The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a Suya seller simply identified as Abdullahi for allegedly attempting to slaughter a four-year-old girl for Suya. Abdullahi, who abducted the four-year-old in an open field at White sand, Ebute Meta area of the state, took her to a secluded area where he had attempted to slaughter her with a knife. However, a passerby who saw Abdullahi raised alarm which attracted people and the suspect was apprehended. In an attempt to resist being caught, the suspect was said to have stabbed one person. Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, told journalists that Good Samaritans succeeded in rescuing the victim from the grip of the suspect. A life has been lost after men of the Nigeria police shot at a crowd in Uyo scrambling for money scattered by armed robbers. There was commotion at a street in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state after men of the Nigeria Police opened fire on people scrambling for money scattered in the streets of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, by armed robbers on Wednesday. One person was shot dead by the police during the commotion, according to reports.   The incident happened after the robbers had attacked occupants of a vehicle who had withdrawn a huge sum of money from a bank and were heading to government House Uyo. They were ambushed by the robbers who collected the money and decided to spray some for the locals. The Benue Police Command has confirmed the assassination of Mr Tavershima Adyorough , Principal Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Samuel Ortom on Knowledge Economy and Investment. Adyorough was also a member of the Benue Economic Team. Mr Bashir Makama, Police Commissioner in Benue, told newsmen on Sunday in Makurdi, that Adyorough was assassinated in the early hours of Sunday. “He was killed in his house by bandits, who also shot his wife. The woman is currently responding to treatment at a government hospital in Makurdi,” he said. The commissioner said that the motive of the killing was yet to be established, but expressed optimism that the culprits would be apprehended and brought to book. “We shall fish out the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice,” he vowed.
